SpotX surfing (54.3) Best Wind Icons:E,SE Best Swell Icons:SW,W Rating:6 Suitable:Competent Best Tide:Low to Mid tide Best Swell Size:Large Wave Type:River Break Break:Left & Right Access:Travel west from Hamilton City on SH23 to Raglan township. Head southwest along Wainui Road through to Manu Bay. Because of severe rips from the harbour flow, it is best to access the bar on a jet ski and only on the low, incoming tide. Experienced surfers only. Features:Want some Indo-type tubes or deep pits? Then Raglan Bar can provide them, but only on a few days a year. The spot needs light offshore winds or glassy conditions, as it gets wind affected and surface conditions chop up quickly with the rip tide. Straight, medium-size, long southwest swells are better with longer lefts. On wedging west swells the right-handers start to peel down on the opposite bank with super-fast, extremely hollow sections. Good luck and surf with caution!.
