Length:5km Time:2-3hrs Difficulty:Moderate Type:Return Directions:Bream Head Scenic Reserve is at Whangarei Heads, off Ocean Beach Road, past Urquharts Bay. Features:Spectacular views from the ridge. The area is being restored ecologically while preserving its historical and archaealogical features. Flocks of kaka are occasionally seen. The track takes you through pasture, kanuka and scrub, climbing into broadleaf forest where you meet the Te Whara Track. Drops steeply to Peach Cove and a small sandy beach good for swimming.
