SpotX hunting (78.4) Accommodation:Camping in Waipakahi River or Waipakahi Hut. Access:Kaimanawa Road 15km South of Turangi on SH1. Take right fork in Kaimanawa Road. Permits:Online or DoC Turangi. Restrictions:Dogs by permit only. Hunting Tips:The Urchin Track leads around the heads of the Waikoko Stream and over into the Waipakihi River valley. Otherwise camp in the bed of the Waipakihi River, and hunt the river flats and surrounding bush. It takes about six to eight hours to get to Waipakihi Hut.
