SpotX hunting (172.7) Accommodation:No. 3 Hut (16 bunks, fire box); Mackenzie Hut (six bunks, no fire); Harper Pass Bivvy (two bunks, no fire). Access:4WD access from Loch Katrine is via locked gate. Limited access only, from November 1 to end of june. Gate access is currently controlled by owner at Lake Station. Four hours' walk via marked track on true right to No. 3 Hut. Permits:Online or DoC Rangiora. Restrictions:No dogs. No vehicles across the Hurunui River. Hunting Tips:Hunt for deer and chamois on the open tops at the head of Cameron Stream, during late spring and summer. The headwaters of all of the other creeks are worth hunting as well.
