SpotX freshfish (263.3) Method:Fly, spin and bait-fishing Restrictions:October 1 to April 30, four trout per day Fit:moderate Skill:intermediate Access:To the north of the SH73 bridge over the Taipo, a DoC track sidles the ridge for about 3km befor dropping down into the Taupo. Fishing Tip:You can fish the Taipo at the SH73 Bridge, but a gorge not far upstream blocks access. The upper Taipo offers good wilderness fishing within an hour of a vehicle. The population of fish is not high, but the fish are of a good size.
