Steve has been fishing for 36 years; he was brought up on the Kaipara Harbour and built his first boat at 19 years of age. Since then, fishing has been his passion and in the early 1990's Steve built his present boat the Cara J a 12 metre fast planing, fly bridge charter cruiser and started his 13 year career as a charter boat owner and skipper.

The Cara J is surveyed for extreme limits and her 310hp Volvo allows her to cruise at 16 knots, which makes her a very comfortable boat around the Bream Bay area or for the frequent trips they make out to the Mokohinau's and the Hen & Chicken islands.
