SpotX surfing (14.3) Best Wind Icons:N,NW Best Swell Icons:SE,S Rating:7 Suitable:Intermediate Best Tide:Low tide Best Swell Size:Medium Wave Type:Beach Break Break:Left & Right Access:Travel from Andersons Bay onto Highcliffs Road, then head northeast through to Shiel Hill. Continue past scenic farmland through to Pukehiki, turn right (east) down the hill, still on Highcliff Road, and then onto Seal Point Road. Great overview from the hill, which is just as well — if it's looking good expect a long walk over the sandhills to the beach below. Features:A stunning, picture-perfect bay on the Otago Peninsula that also has very good waves. An enclosed bay with a scattering of islands at the northern end and a sheltered headland at the southern end. The islands help break up the northeast swells and it picks up any south or southeast swell. Good-quality peaks in the middle with a right-hander peeling off the rocks at the south end. Uncrowded, isolated surf spot.
